Beatriz Couto Ribeiro is a specialist in infrastructure policy, currently working at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in the Water and Sanitation Knowledge Area. She has served as a consultant for the World Bank and held postdoctoral research positions at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS Helmholtz) and George Washington University (GWU). She holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Economics from the Technical University of Berlin (TUB) and in Science and Technology Policy from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP).
Her work focuses on fostering innovation in infrastructure sectors, particularly water, sanitation, and energy, in Latin America and OECD countries. She employs both quatitative and qualitative methods, such as difference-in-differences, synthetic control, and instrumental variables, as well as interviews and document analysis.
